Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Pikmin Bloom pure spot?

A pure spot is a place with only one decor type within 120 m. Using the Detector there gives you only that decor Pikmin, so it is the most efficient way to collect a specific decor.

How do I get the decor Pikmin I want?

Find a pure spot of that decor type, walk there and open the Detector — the Pikmin you bring back will have that decor. Tap "Filter" on the map above and pick the decor type, or browse the Decor Types page. Tap "Navigate" on the spot to walk there with Google Maps. When you arrive, tap the Detector on the right of the walking screen. If "Nearby Locations" shows only one type, you are in the right place.

How do I get a seedling with a Lifelog photo?

Add a photo in the Lifelog and set its location on a pure spot, and you may get a seedling of that decor there. A place name is not its in-game type: a photo pinned at a burger chain often gives a Chef Hat or Roadside seedling, because the game does not count that place as a Burger Restaurant, or it has more than one type. Using a pure spot from this map tells you what you will get. On the map above, tap "Filter", then "Photo seedling range": the dashed circle is 10 km around you. In the same panel, keep only the decor you want and pick a pure spot inside the circle. Tap the spot and tap "Copy coordinates". Set the location of a photo taken today. iPhone: open the photo in Photos, tap "⋯" at the top right, choose Adjust Location and paste the coordinates you copied. Other phones: just drag the pin in the app in the next step. In Pikmin Bloom, tap the date card on the walking screen to open the Lifelog and add the photo with the photo button. If the location is not filled in, tap the location field, zoom in, drag the pin onto the pure spot and confirm; keep location info checked and save. You do not need the Detector: the seedling shows up under Expeditions, so send Pikmin to bring it back. A pure spot has only one decor type, so it will be a seedling of that decor. The rules for photo seedlings are not published and a seedling is not guaranteed. Players report one a day, even if you add more photos, and none appears where you already have Pikmin, a seedling or an uncollected expedition.

How do I use pure spot coordinates?

Tap "Navigate" on a spot and the coordinates open as a route in Google Maps; walk there and use the Detector. You can also paste the coordinates into Google Maps search. If you are nearby but do not get the decor you want, tap "Find the pin" on the spot and follow it onto the marker before opening the Detector.

How do I use this pure spot map?

Zoom into the map on this page to see pure spots anywhere, or pick a city and district below for a list. Zoom in: the number circles split up until every pure spot is shown. "Filter" shows only certain decor types and lets you choose which walking routes to show; set the map type to "Default" to see shops and other details. "Locate Me" jumps to where you are; "Full screen" opens a bigger map. Tap a spot to navigate, find the pin, save it or report it. If you cannot walk to the spot, you can also try a Lifelog photo seedling — see the Lifelog photo question above.

What does "Find the pin" do?

Some pure spots only work when you stand right on the marker. "Find the pin" uses your phone location to show how far the marker is and which way to walk; open the Detector when it says you are on the pin.

How do saved spots and "My routes" work?

Tap "Save" on a spot and it appears under Saved/Status. With two or more saved spots you can build "My routes" and open it as a walking route in Google Maps in one tap.

What are the Pikmin Bloom walking routes?

Walking routes link several nearby pure spots of different types, so one walk collects several decor types. Each route lists what every stop gives you, opens in Google Maps in one tap, and can be saved to My routes. To share a route you like, go to "Share a route" on the Add spot page, tap a few pure spots on the map and send it — it will appear in the walking routes.

How many decor types are there, and how are spots checked?

There are 41 location decor types, each from a place type such as café, library or beach. Every pure spot on this site was checked in the game with the Detector to confirm only one decor type appears there.
